💵 Rough Cost to Play
All players pay a one-time $39 National MSBL fee (paid once, not per league). On top of that, each league has a player fee covering field rent, umpires and baseballs. Rough per-player estimates for a full season:
- National (18+) — ~$330 (13 games)
- Federal (18+) — ~$475 (18 games)
- Charlie Holmes (35+) — ~$590 (24 games)
- Scotty Matteson (45+) — ~$485 (20 games)
- 55+ — ~$410 (20 games)
- 65+ — ~$345 (16 games)
- Fall Ball (18+) — ~$140 (6 games)
Estimates assume a roster of 13 players; your actual cost depends on your team's final roster size. Your team organizer will confirm the exact amount.
📍 Where We Play
Most games are played at the Mid America Sports Complex (MASC) in Shawnee, KS — a well-maintained turf facility.
Some leagues also use Macken Park (North Kansas City), Johnson County fields, Homefield and Creekside, depending on the schedule.
🕖 Game Times
Games are played on weeknight and Sunday evenings, so they fit around work and family. Most dates have two games — an early and a late slot.
- Federal (18+) — Sundays, 5:00 & 7:30 PM
- National (18+) — Wednesdays, 6:30 & 8:45 PM
- Charlie Holmes (35+) — Wednesdays, 6:30 & 8:45 PM
- Scotty Matteson (45+) — Mondays, 6:30 & 8:45 PM
- 55+ — Thursdays, 6:30 & 8:45 PM
- Wood Bat 65+ — Tuesdays, 6:30 & 8:45 PM
- Fall Ball (18+) — Thursdays, 6:30 & 8:30 PM
🎽 Equipment
Players provide their own gear. A few things to know before your first game:
- Wood bats only — composite wood is a good choice for newer players
- Turf shoes or rubber cleats — no metal spikes on the turf fields
🗓️ Seasons & Schedule
The main spring/summer season runs roughly April through late summer, with 12–22 regular-season games depending on the league, followed by playoffs.
A shorter Fall League (18+) runs in September and October.
🤝 What It's Like
Our leagues are competitive but welcoming. Teams are used to helping newer players get up to speed, and there's an age bracket for just about everyone — from 18+ all the way up to 65+.
