MSBL World Series Concludes With Ten Championships On Final Day By Tom Prendergast The 16th edition of the annual MSBL/MABL World Series ended Saturday with ten new champions. Despite a few raindrops and very overcast skies, all of the games were played, most of them very competitive. And in a few cases, Saturday's games were the second time this week that some teams faced each other. In the 48+ National Championship game the KC Monarchs beat the Berry's, 14-4 after losing to them on Monday. While in the 48+ American Championship game the Lehigh Valley Moondogs beat the Continental Classics 8-3, after having lost to them in pool play earlier in the week. The 58+ National Compadres defeated Berry's Athletic Supply 15-3 and the 58+ American Division Chicago Sky Liners defeated the St. Thomas Trade Winds 7-4. In the 38+ Mountain Championship game the DC Cardinals shutout the Auburn Braves 13-0. The Calgary Cardinals capped off a great week with an 8-1 victory over the San Marcos Brewers in the 38+ Central title game. The San Antonio Bombers beat the Dallas BBQ Catdaddy Diamondbacks 8-6 to win the 38+ Continental Championship, while the Boston Braves won 7-3 over Inland Pacific Apache to capture the 38+ Federal Championship game. The Massachusetts Cardinals beat the Chicago Fire 14-4 in the 48+ Federal Championship game and the St. Thomas Hurricanes won the 48+ Central Championship game in a 10-5 win over the Chicago Bears.
